ok so jaipur is known as the pink city because of the wind palace, jaisalmer is known as the golden city beacuse of the fort and udaipur is known as the white city because of the water palace. This is also the place "Octop**** quot; Bond 007 was shot and they play the movie everywhere over and over ahahha.

this city has to be one of may favourite places in india and unfortunately i am leaving tomorrow...

Udaipur is a city that sits on two water lakes. THe southern lake is called Lake Pichola and was created by flooding a local village... on this lake two palaces have been built Jagniwas island built in 1754 and was formally the royal summer palace (now a hotel) and Jagmandir island build in 1620 and is all white. on the east bank is the city palace built in 1600??? the palace is an interesting place .. as u walk through it it has been added on and added on through the generations of maharaja's who lived in it as u walk through u can see the influnce of mughals hindu , portuguese, dutch and british influence. and right next door is the Jagdish temple which has wonderfull stone carvinmg through out it covering every inch of every wall inside and out (built in 1651).. the town its self is a full of artist and hadicraft places udaipur is famous for its miniture paints which are delicate detailed and beautiful.. one of the artist even painted an example of his work in my thumb nail it sis so delicate and so accurate...

ive managed to run into some people i met at a previous hostel so we have a group that hang out. we've also been asked to be extra's ina movie to be shot in udaipur.. but we totally forgot the time and didn't turn up. whoops..

its sad to be leaving this place but u cant stay here forever so im leaving tomorrow for MT abu and the mumbai where im meeting sim and we are heading sth... the festiv season is on us again divallei which should be fun
