So after the inevitable hours sprawling around in the departure lounge we headed to the Gate where Theo and I counted the planes - we could see 6 planes - ours was orange and white!

There was the predictable meltdown from him as we took our seats and he was fitted with the enhanced-infant-seating-system (mini straitjacket that stops little monsters from slithering out of their seats and escaping). Paw Patrol and popcorn calmed him down though and he was as good as gold for the rest of the flight until The Descent, (when he did take on the snarling demeanour of the creatures from that film...)

Baggage reclaim and passport control were very quick and we were thrilled that our hire car was an automatic Land Rover Discovery Sport in white - which is a fantastic car and great to drive! Got to the hotel and checked in then headed into downtown Reykjavik for a stroll and dinner at a very nice Italian restaurant. Up early in the morning as heading up onto the glacier!
