We started our UK tour today, we were up at 6am and enjoyed another feast of a breakfast lol. We headed west out of London with a full bus of eager travelers. Our first stop was stonehenge, we didn't pay the 8 pounds to go in, we could see good enough from the fence. However to take good photos Boof had to lift me up to see over the fence lol! They were pretty impressive even though know body really knows what they are doing there, just lots of theories, I love the one that they were an enclosure for dinosaurs hehe.
Our second stop was in Salisbury "the city of the soaring spire" this is a 13th century cathedral with Britain's tallest spire. It houses the worlds oldest mechanical working clock from 1386. It was very beautiful inside with lots of stained glass and lots of different alters to prey for different things. We also had lunch here, I ate some fresh strawberries they were so good. Got to pat a cockerspaniel called Oliver, he was white and light brown and so soft, I think rummy would have really liked him lol.
As we are driving along we are passing through beautiful little towns, all there flowers are out at the moment and there hedges so green. We are driving through rolling green hills with farmer Jo ploughing barley and wheat.
We have gone off the high way and opted to take the scenic root into the Dartmoor national park, it is beautiful with dense forest with streams of light shining through. I was lucky enough to get a glimpse of a fawn (deer). After the national park we drove along these rolling hills to get to Widecombe-in-the-moor. On these hills roam cattle, black faced sheep and pony's, farmers own them but there are no fences they just roam free and some times they even decide to go into town lol!! This is a small village with a large church from the 12th century. We shared a Devonshire tea and scone which this area is famous for. The tea was good but oh my god the cream was to die for!!
We have pulled up in the old part of Plymouth, we had half an hour to wander around, it is right on the sea with beautiful yachts mored and people enjoying fish and chips. We stayed in the other side of Plymouth were we enjoyed a buffet tea together.
Our tour directors name is Gordon and driver Andy. It has been a beautiful day about 26 degrees. Think it's suppose to be raining tomorrow b*****!!
