Hotel is a bit out of the heart of Venice so we all had to catch the bus. When we got to the heart Owen took us on a walking tour where we saw the campanile which is a huge bell tower that you get the best views of the Venetian islands, we went back there and took photos after tour, we saw St Marks square it has heaps of diseased pigeons from being in the canals which contain surge, St marks Basilica which was really hot to line up for but a beautiful church in it's own right, it is full of mosaque, we also saw doges palace, Rialto bridge and sighs bridge, the convicts used to walk over this into jail, it was there last look of sun light.

Venice is built on 117 small islands and has around 150 canals, there are no cars allowed in the city only gondolas, boats and lots of pedestrians, it's such a unique place to visit.

After our walking tour we all went on the gondolas it was good fun but not the way I had imagined it. We had 6 to a boat, not the romantic 2, like what you see on the movies, if you wanted to do it on your own it would have cost you between 80-120 euro for 20 mins, way to much we thought. Anyway we shared the boat with Sara, Elaine, Amy, and Ebony, it was pretty unstable but good fun. We got some tunes playing and our guy paddling our bout told us more history on Venice, he even showed us where Casanova used to live lol! Our paddler also got votes for calling me cinderella lol!!

After the boats we went to a glass blowing demonstration, the guy mad a horse in about a minute flat, he wad very clever. Then we went to a lace demonstration, the lady was very interesting with all there lace being hand made using several different techniques. Venice is very well known for there quality glass and lace wares.

After a morning if sightseeing we enjoyed lunch altogether and yes another pizza lol! Then we just got lost around the canals of Venice it was a lovely day and finished of with some gnokkie with Mick at a lovely local restaurant.
