As winter started to kick in, Coral and I suddenly realized that we had almost missed a famous Japanese pastime. Momoji. Autumn Leaf Viewing. In Japan some of the trees turn truly speculator colours in the autumn. For weeks our travels had been surrounded by seas of reds, oranges and yellows. Something the Japanese don't take for granted. Everywhere you look in shops there are things relating to the leaves falling.
So on Sunday, we went to RienKeon. A park famous for its autumn illumination of the trees. Japan loves its lives festivals and they get very creative which what colours or so to use to make the right atmosphere. We had to wait in a line for 15 minutes to get in, our own fault for going on the last day, but once we were in it was worth it.
I wish I had the ability to describe the park but I'll just have to settle for uploading a few photos and tell you now that they don't do the park any justice. But yes, the park was amazing and beautiful. I haven't seen colours like that on real trees in forever.
Also this week, I started making plans for the 2 month break I have off. Finally I will get to go to Kansai! And see Kyoto, the place everyone falls in love with.
