Hello!

We travelled 8 hours on the bus up from Airlie Beach on Thursday to arrive in Mission Beach which is just two hours south of Cairns.

We have just come up here for 2 nights as we wanted to visit Dunk island which we went to today. Its a fairly small Island just off Mission Beach. I hadn't heard about it before I came to Australia but we got a tip off from some girls we met on Fraser Island and Im so glad we did. It is a really beautiful, tranquil island.

It took us about 15 minutes to get from Mission beach to Dunk Island on a little Water Taxi. I think this was the craziest boat ride of my life. The sea was pretty rough, the boat was literally lifting off the water!! Atfer that and the Whitsundays, I think I need to avoid boats for a while!

Anyway, the crazy, life risking boat ride was well worth it as the island was just so beauitful. We both felt like we'd been washed up on a remote tropical island. There were hardly any people around and it was just so peaceful. I don't think anyone will believe us when we say that this whole trip has been quite tiring but it has!! Travelling is hard work!!! So it was really nice to just lie on a picturesque island all day and generally not do a lot.

* 'Hes a flaming Sheila!' ( I felt like I was listening to Alf off Home and Away!!)
