G'day from Australia for the last time!
We spent our last day in Australia today :( Im not ready to leave here yet! We are already planning our return trip to Aus to see all the places we haven't had chance to. Although, I think even if you stayed here a year you still wouldn't see everything, it really is crazy how big Australia is. Even though it feels like ages since I was at home, five weeks just seem to have gone really fast here. I think its probably as we've tried to cram so much into the time we've been here.
So, we have spent to past two days in Melbourne after returning from our trip to the Outback. I have cheated a bit too, we actually spent a couple of days in Melbourne before going to Alice Springs but I thought I would just write about it in one blog entry.
To be honest, Melbourne has pretty much just been about browsing the shops and markets and sitting in cafes which has been great. Its felt more relaxed than anywhere we've been as we've not really had anything planned which has been nice. I am quite happy to sit and people watch all day, whilst eating cake of course :)
Now, I am sorry but I am going to have to go on about Neighbours for a little bit as yesterday we went on the Neighbours tour!!! I apologise to anyone who doesn't watch Neighbours (of which there really shouldn't be many!) We were all pretty sad as we had been counting down to this day. So, nice and early in the morning (as most things are!) we hoped onto the Neighbours tour bus and drove to 'Ramsey Street' watching episodes of Neighbours. However, we were nearly all in tears by the time we got there as we had to watch the episodes where Madge dies!! Sad times!
Anyway, we went to Ramsey Street first which isen't actually called that as people actually live there. We were all excited as soon as we pulled up though as straight away we felt like we were in Neighbours. We got to stand outside Susan Kennedy's house, woo! The only downside was talking to some racist who lives in Harold's old house but there you go, you can't have everything! From here we went to the studios where they do the rest of the filming of Lassiters and Charlie's Bar and of course Harold's store. It really did feel bizzare! Luckily, the rest of the people on the trip were as excited as us so we didn't look too sad!
Driving back into Melbourne from the trip we randomly stopped at a theatre and one fo the characters popped on the bus. Now after getting our hopes up for Susan or Libby Kennedy this was a slight dissappoinment as we met Jannelle Timmons who played Dillan and Stingrays mum for anyone who knows. It was still pretty cool, I just would have rather have met one of her sons! We still got an autograph though and a nice cheesy photo so all was good!
Anyway, thats enough about Neighbours now. We need to go out and spend our last night in Melbourne before flying to New Zealand tomorrow.
Bye!!xxxx
