Just a quick hello,

I spent 30 min this morning writing a long blog and i lost it, was not happy, so just gonna keep this one short.

Here we are in Patong Beach, thailand, the most amazing place i have ever seen. It is such a nice change from Bangkok, Michael and i were so ready to leave the city, the noise, pollution and busyness(is that a word)? we caught the bus and after an exhastive 15 hours arrived in Phuket city... Getting off the bus was overwelming we were literally swarmed by about 30 tuk tuk drivers trying to take us somewhere, we almost had to run away from them and then they followed us up the streets driving behind us, michael almost lost it... on top of that it was soo hot and carrying 12kg backpacks was quite a challenge especially for me. We caught a local bus to Patong beach which is the most popular area of phuket. I cant describe how beautiful this place is, it's truly breathtaking.

We found a room to rent for 500bt per night around $8 aus each it's basic but has everything we need, 20m from beach, our window looks out to the sea. everything is so cheap, to give you some idea, the meals are $3-$4 with drink, to hire a scooter for 24hours it cost 200bt about $7 aus unbelievable.

Today is my birthday... happy birthday to me: ) Michael and i just had a 1hr thai massage, 1hr foot massage, pedicure(both of us) and me a manicure, feeling fantastic very destressed. for my b'day tonight we will go out maybe check out the "aussie pub" tacky but we gotta check it out.. also will go to a "go-go" bar basically like a strip club but the girls wear bikinis and dance not as provocatively, they are filled with old desperate westerners who buy the girls drinks and pay them to go on a date, kinda gross i think but its becoming normal to see beautiful young thai girls with fat old sweaty men...

Anyway should go, please write on the message board, it's too hard too write individual emails and would be great to see hoe you all are
