after having a very relaxing few days (including jet skiing) we decided to take of to phi phi island, this place is magical, it is a mixture of rainforest tropics with weather to match, after a short ferry to the island we took off to find a place to stay, this was rellatively easy as you dissembark naturally you are targeted by touts trying to book you into a room, so we decided on a place called uphill, what we didnt reqalise was that it was UPHILL, and being in the climate that we were in in you literally gasp for air whilst wiping of sweat by the time you take 4 steps in any uphill direction, the room we got did not i repeat did not have air conditioning this is very bad we almost died, so we decided it was best to pay extra and get a room with aircon, so far up untill this point the day is going rellatively well, we arrive aat our new room, we walk inside and there is this smell like someone or something pissed somewhere, you can smell it but you cant see it, so after slightly unpacking and crashing on the bed with the air con on i discover the source of the smell a puddle of piss by the front door maybe 1 week old give or take, this makes me mad i tell nicole to pack her things were outa this room. i track down the guy in charge and advise him someone pissed on the floor in our room it stinks and i ask for another room, he sends up this woman maybe his wife, with what looks like a homemade broom, and she walks up to the door and starts to sweep up at this point i go into shock, i say again this needs to be mopped, she bends down and starts rubbing with her fingers and she smiles as if its ok, i locate the guy in charge and eventually we get the next door room, problem solved stress level medium high, later that night we wander around the island which is rellatively small and easily accessible by foot when we return we get ready for bed the aircon is on and at some point very early (2 am or 3 am) we wake up to the sound of loud drops hitting the floor boards its loud enough to wake us up, we hit the lights and the aircon is dripping la puddle infact starting to get really stressed we went vack to sleep woke up enjoyed the day on the island but there is more, nicole goes to take a shower later in the day and whilst i'm in the room doing some exercise i hear some funny noises in the other direction it's nicoloe she's in trouble, the shower tap has blown off the wall and water is coming out like a fire hydrant, and not only that but the water here smells like sewage and it comes out black for the first few minutes, i run in to rescue her and fix the tap eventually at this point we are both at boilong point and are ready to get off phi phi island we have had enough, then we come down abit and go out the next day i use the toilet, low and behold hit the flush but the toilet disagrees instead i'm left to empty out the toilet with a plastic bag over my hand as we dont have gloves neither does anybody else it was the most dirtiest thing i have ever done in my entire life, after this we quickly decided to make a run for it we packed in record time left the toilet blocked and bailed we found a little place with a beutiful room and remained thier trouble free, we took off snorkelling definately the highlight of our trip so far it was so beautiful nothing like it crystal clear water and lots of tropical fish, we finished of with dinner under the sunset, returning from phi phi we are thanking god that we are alive after a horror boat ride back to phuket, will tell you all about it next time, for now missing you all, hopefully photos will be up when we get into the usa having trouble here
