John did such an emotional speach and it went on for about 10 minutes believe it or not. It was a great night, I had a few drinks for the first time in a while. Brought back memories of Thailand, it sounds like you both enjoyed it... most of the time. That hotel in Phi Phi sounds shocking! I think I must have been pretty lucky... there were definitely some dodgy places, but none like that! Yuck! i guess from the states onwards you'll mainly be staying in hostels? Don't worry, you start to get used to the sound of people leaving at all hours... I did... so much so that I didn't hear someone raid the entire room one night in Budapest!
