Day 1

After a 7 hour bus journey we arrived in Singapore at 5.00pm on Friday 28th September. As usual we had not booked ourselves into a hostel - usually this isnt a problem however in Singapore there were no tourist maps and the taxi drivers didnt have a clue of any of the hostels we suggested. Massive stressful period for a few hours as we wandered the streets of singapore like lost sheep with our big bags looking for hostels but eventually checked into one in a good location (near the city centre). Had some food at a local street stall and then walked down to Clarke Quay (river that runs through the city). It was beutiful here, everything was lit up and the city looked stunning. We admired the city eating the best turkish ice cream ever!!! 5 different flavours dipped in chocolate and sprinkles! haha. Next we got a boat trip down the river before heading back to our hostel for some sleep.

Day 2

The craziest day ever! Been so busy! OK, whilst having breakfast a girl decided to infrom us that the hostel had bed bugs!!!! luckily we had our sleeping bag liners and hadnt come across any last night so we decided to stay put. Got a tour bus around the city to educate ourselves!! Saw loads of different sites and learnt loads of different facts (which are pretty useless but we still feel very well educated - not going to bore you by telling them). Visited the botanic gardens which again were really pretty and its amazing to see so much greenery in the middle of a city. So many shopping centres here it is unbelievable! On one road there are 43 shopping centres - that is 42 Trafford centres! Crazy! Unfortunatly we didnt have money to spend but was still good to window shop! Got off our tour bus at loads of different stops including china town and little india. Luckily the buses run regular because we missed one due to us buying sweets! haha. You all know we love our pick and mix! We got the tour bus across to Sentosa - little island - just next to Singapore and watched a water and lazor show which was pretty average - the chinese next to us kept us entertained by going 'ooohhh' at every little splash. As it was late by the time we got back to Singapore main island we headed for some food befoe turning ourselves in.

Day 3

Thankfully we had a good nights sleep and no bed bugs! Went back to sentosa (via cable car) to see the island in the day - chilled here for a while before deciding to split up! Yes split up - nicky stayed at the beach whilst Charlotte went shopping. A little scary at first but we managed to meet up later in the afternoon - even though we were on opposite sides of the river! In the evening we headed back to Clarke Quay - for another turkish ice cream and chill in a bar.

Day 4

Up at 5.45am for taxi to airport to get flight to Perth! We are looking forward to 3 chilled months in Australia! Will update soon. x
