Jesus, what a night last night. Today was the day I`ve done the least since I went travelling. Apart from leaving the hostel to go to the market to buy myself a necklace, I`ve just been in bed all day.
Yeah so yestarday I went out to Dotombori in Minami. Went with 2 English lads, Joel & Matt, and a Bulgarian guy called Georgi.
We were just walking about looking for a place to drink. There are PLENTY but its finding them, because at street level all there is, is strip bars etc... So we go to a place we think is a bar...it wasn`t. We aren`t sure what it was yet - We are undecided whether it was a massage house/brothel, or a tea house.
So we ask a black guy on the street and he points us in the direction of this "Brothers Bar" which was a quiet bar with a couple of Japanese people in. So we have a couple of drinks and a third round comes over - A present from the guy at the bar.
Then we get a chicken dinner each.
Then we get 2 bowls of strawberries for dessert. Japanese people are AWESOME. We bought him a drink back of course, but that means we paid 2.50 quid for 4 drinks, 4 chicken dinners and 2 bowls of strawberries...not bad.
Moved on to a more lively bar with an Australian barman whose been working in bars in Japan for 7 years - He loves it apparently.
This drunk Dutch guy and his American "f***buddy" start talking to us...he was a proper w***er though and we soon left...
Found our way to this bar called Azure, with a ten quid cover charge but that included 2 drinks. Georgi was dancing crazy and Japanese people actually pointed and laughed.
I left my phone on the table at one point, and got it back. That`s what Japan is like - You lose anything, chances are you`ll get it back, such a true, honest and friendly country.
I ended up talking to this Japanese girl, who I bought 2 drinks , and then she f***ed off, cheeky b****. But she`d already introduced us to her friends so I start talking to a girl called Fumi, who spoke really good English, and spent the rest of the night with her.
I even managed to watch the Champions League Semi Final - Awesome game. I finally crawled into bed at 7am! Great night.
Anyway - I gotta finish packing. Leave on the 2 day long Ferry for Shaghai tommorow. Apparently its not the best ride ever.
Sad to be leaving Japan - great country. With vending machines for drinks, alcohol, cigarettes and batteries everywhere, stupidly slow pedestrian crossings (upto 3 minutes just stood there sometimes), a 24-hour culture and the friendliest nation you`ll ever meet, I think it`s gonna end up as one of the best places I go.
......But at least SE Asia is cheap
