Hey Everyone.
How are things? Going good here in Kyoto. It's not nearly as good as Tokyo, but it's not too bad.
Spent the first day with Pam and Amanda. We went to see the famous Kikakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion) which is in the picture above, very cool. Then headed to the imperial palace which was closed (Sunday ) but had a walk round the grounds, then to Nijo Castle which had some great gardens.
Bus network is more complicated than the subway, but in the end we managed to understand it.
As I had no sleep for the last 2 nights I crashed out for a decent 14 hours. Got up today and headed north to the Philosophers Path where there are a couple of decent temples and gardens. Went with Pam, Amanda and another 5 Aussies. We had a good day, taking lots of stupid pictures. Having a few beers now but I'm pretty beat so will hit the hay soon.
Tommorow I'm considering going to the monkey park, then I move to Osaka for 3 nights before the ferry. I'm looking forward to Osaka - Better shops and a good nightlife, Kyoto is too boring for me.
Sorted out Shanghai accomodation now aswell. So far so good. Thanks for the messages and emails guys. I'll try get some pictures on when I can be bothered. Keep in touch.
