¡Hola!

Our first stop on our trip is Buenos Aires, after a long couple of flights we finally got here.We were pleasantly surprised to find some amazing architecture similar to that of Melbournes.

We Stayed at Portal Del Sur Youth hostel which was a 4 level hostel which had everything you needed a bar up top with a terrace, free wi-fi, lounges along with a great breakfast. English speaking staff and reasonably sized rooms made it perfect for us.

In total we stayed for 8 nights and took in sights such as Museo del Cabildo, Casa Rosada , Botanical gardens, jardin japones and cementerio de la Recoleta we also had some favourite streets such as Defensa and florida.

Empanadas were our favourite local dish and all the rave was of Alfajores which did not grab us. Empanadas are a pastry snack similar to a pastie, filled with either chicken, beef or vegatables. The alphajores are sweet biscuit filled with caramel. We could not come to Argentina and not try their world famous Beef, one night at the backpackers they put on a BBQ and an endless supply of steak was on hand. Not to mention the Chorizo which we both loved and cooked again two nights later.

Jacks Favourite was our trip out to La Boca where there is some lovely looking albeit very coulorful housing, but most of all home of La Bombonera home of the Boca Juniors. We had a guided tour and was able to step foot onto the turf, great day.

Niks favourite was the Sunday antiques fair in San Telmo, Defensa street hosts a fair which stretches down its laneways for 500m through Plaza de San Telmo. Maybe because the monday was a public holiday but people were every where, great atmosphere there was tango dancing in the streets, performers and an endless amount of stalls.

Overall we had a fantastic time in Buenos Aires, wonderfull looking city, lovely locals and would highly recommend to everyone.

Now ready for our next adventure...... Rio de Jenero!!!!
