Our ferry to Ao Nang was at 1530, there is only one a day from Phi Phi. We had to check out by 11am but we could leave our bags there & use the pool etc which was good. We went for a walk around & checked our emails before relaxing - in the shade as we woke up a tad red this morning - with a drink. Lots of waiting around today as we didn't want to use the pool without being able to shower after.
Our boat was small, the inside was so hot as it was small so stood out on the deck too - again seeing some beautiful views. It took about an hour and a half to get to Ao Nang from Phi Phi. The tide was really low meaning our boat couldn't get to the pier!!!! We saw longtail boats pulling up next to us and it became clear that we were going to have to get our bags together and climb down to transfer onto these longtails!!!!
We went to the back of our boat and down onto the lower level and steppend over to the longtail boat! Nick and I were first onto our longtail so had to then climb through, with our sea legs on, to the other end whilst other idiots clamberred on not realising that they needed to even out the weight by sitting on both sides - we were swaying all over the place! Got to shore and climbed out of the boat into the shallow sea. Nick and I got a Tuk Tuk for 80 Baht to our hostel, Ao Nang Grand Inn. The hostel is fine, nothing special but got everything we need. The beach seems lovely so hope to head there tomorrow before we fly to Kuala Lumpur the day after.
