Here we are in Kathmandu, Nepal. There's not a lot to report apart from the fact that we thought we would only spend a night before going on a trek, but we were bedridden/room bound with food poisoning for a week.

Kathmandu, while it is a shoppers/Trekkers paradise is a smog ridden city and the food is absolutely rubbish. We stayed in Thamel which is a 'traveler's ghetto,' packed with guest houses, restaurants, shops and bookstores catering for tourists from abroad.

We did manage to do a walking tour on one of our better days but the pollution was too much for us, so we ended up buying one of those masks the Japs wear! Our hearts were broken when we found out that Nepal doesn't have a McDonalds! Just when we needed comfort food.

The less said about Kathmandu, the better!
