I had a very early start on the 30th June! I had to be up at 1am to catch a bus to the airport for a 6.30am flight! The bus inconveniently went at 3am which was a pain but needs must when you're a traveller! I had to get a taxi to the bus first which took a while! It wasn't too fun travelling around at night on my own!

I caught a flight to Auckland and then had an 8 hour wait in Auckland's domestic airport before my flight down to Christchurch! I decided to do the south island first and the easiest way to get down there was to catch a flight! Those 8 hours in the domestic terminal were sooooooo incredibly boring!!! I did some reading and went on the internet and ate McDonald's!!!! That was it!

I flew down to Christchurch and spent 2 nights there. It was quite a pretty little town. The weather was really sunny. A little cold but pleasant! It wasn't as cold as I was expecting it to be. We watched some people playing on a giant Chess board and just had a wander round the town. We also found a car rental place and booked out a car for our trip round the south island. It was a bit of an old banger but it was cheap and did the job! After 2 days in Christchurch we head off on the start of our road trip to Lake Tekapo. I've never seen scenery like it! It was stunning! Snow capped mountains in all directions and beautiful lakes everywhere! I didn't stop saying 'Wow' the whole journey! I knew the country was going to be pretty but I wasn't prepared for just how pretty! I've got some pictures on Facebook but they really don't do it justice!!!
