We caught a bus to the Cameron Highlands after a 2 night trip in Penang. The road was really really windy and it seemed to take a long time to get there. We were dropped off at a guesthouse and were assigned rooms in an old nissen hut! It felt like we were in the army! We had the most creaky and crappy beds in the hut too! The showers were in a little block and we couldn't find one that actually had hot water!

We signed up for a half day trip which we went on the afternoon we arrived. The trip started off by taking us to a rose farm! It was really just a big garden centre! But the 3 of us had a laugh walking round it and looking at all the weird models they have there. It was actually quite fun for a garden centre! Cat picked out the flowers for her wedding too (she's not actually getting married but she wanted to be prepared!).

The second part of our trip was to a strawberry farm where we just saw where strawberries were farmed. We even managed to get Beth to eat 2 strawberries (she hates all types of fruit!!).

We then stopped off at a tea plantation where we saw all of the fields where the tea is planted and picked. It was pretty amazing just seeing seas of tea plants. It was beautiful. We were given a tour of a tea factory by the angriest man! We made the mistake of asking him whether the caffeine in tea was natural or if they added it and he went off on a huge rant about how there was no caffeine in tea and there's no such thing as decaffeinated tea! But one cup of coffee has the same amount of caffeine as 50 cups of tea! So, it does have caffeine in then!! And how the English use rubbish tea and don't brew it for long enough!! It was quite funny! He was obviously very passionate about tea!! We spent the afternoon just taking the mick out of him!

The next stop on our tour was to a butterfly farm where there were loads of butterflies and insects. A lot of them seemed to be dead though so I wasn't really sure about that place! We were taken to a honey bee farm too. Very cultural!
