Hold on to your hats, get a stiff drink and sit down if you're not doing it already. A major event happened in Cairns yesterday that is a world first and I, Andrew James Jarvis, was lucky enough to witness it.

For the first time ever, Nic went out and purchased a dress. Now I know she's been seen in these things before, for weddings (not just ours), but I'm sure most of you will know how much belly aching and grumbling went in to wearing these. However, this was different. She told me one day at breakfast - ruining the meal for me - and then dragged me round a shopping centre all day.

For the record, its blue and white and the hem line is above the knee. Photos will follow when she takes the next brave step... actually wearing it outside the shop fitting room!

Snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef is nothing. This new dress is truly momentous!
