Happy Australia Day but more importantly Happy 40th Birthday Tiff!
Sorry for the delay in posting our last two days of our travels but I not only had some technical issues I was enjoying the moments.
We started the day off with a traditional Aussie cooked breakfast included some great vegemite, cheese and lamb sausages- yes you read that correctly! I purchased them from coles before we came camping for our Aussie cooked breaky. We also had the classic bacon, eggs, tomatoes & mushrooms washed down with a cup of coffee & glass of juice.
Now with our stomachs lined we are ready for a day of tastings. We head towards Milawa cheese factory to sample some of the local delights. To our surprise there was a well placed winery next to the cheese factory and we c menace our wine tasting. With purchases in hand we double to camp to drop our wine & cheese into our camp fridge to keep them nice.
We head off to discover Beechworth honey & enjoy a famous meat pie from Beechworth Bakery. Walking the streets of Beechworth and looking in the stores fills our day before we head back towards Milawa.
Being a warm day we decided to head to do some more tastings and go to Brown Brothers winery to enjoy some wonderful tastings in air conditioning comfort. We then head just down the road a little further to a local gin distillery where we try some before heading back to camp. With still an hour or so to kill we stroll around town and visit the Milawa Mustard’s & smokehouse before returning to camp & cooking up a bbq dinner.
