Salto (Uruguay) - Day 12 - 11/10/2012 (Thursday)
The bus we were on seemed to spend more time stopped than moving and seemed to take forever. Finally about half 5 in the morning it was time to get off. We were dropped under a bridge in the side of a motorway. However there were taxi's waiting on the other side. After crossing the taxi's then drove us to the border. They helped us do our 6th border crossing in under 2 days. They then drove us into Salto.
As it was still early our rooms where not ready at the hotel so went went to get some money from the worlds slowest cash machine. It only worked for a few of us. Sarah and I weren't included in that so had to borrow money from other people.
There is not much to do in Salto, it's just a stop to break up the bus journeys. Therefore the only thing we could do was go to a thermal spring spa. It was only £2 for the whole day so we couldn't complain about the price. We sat in various pools all day only split up by grabbing some lunch and going on some beer runs.
For dinner a few of us got a take away and sat up chatting for a bit before getting an early night as the next bus was at half 6 the following morning.
