Colonina - Day 15 - 14/10/2012 (Sunday)
Starting to spot a pattern now. Early wake up, early taxi to the bus station to get an early bus. Luckily this one was only a couple of hours. We arrived in Colonina about 11 and got a taxi to the hotel. Colonina is a tiny little town which in the olden days was used as a port to move products from Uruguay to Argentina. It's also famous for being the place where you hire golf buggies to go round the town, hence that is the first thing we did. I got to drive wooo. Sarah sat in the front and Simon and Beth sat in the back. The first thing you notice about a golf buggy is that it is soooo slow!! The first place we wanted to visit was a bull fighting ring about 2 miles away. It took almost half an hour to get there. We could have ran faster lol. By the time we got back to town we'd used 1 of our 2 hours. I drove round the old quarter for a bit and then gave Beth the controls so she could have a quick drive. Things went well until she drove the wrong way down a one way street and stopped when all the locals waved at her. She left me to do a 50 point turn and get us out.
Once we gave the cart back we went for a quick lunch. 2 hours later we finished lunch after being treated to some old lady singing way to loud which they also decided to charge us for. After that we went to a market and had another walk around. We even found a lit house we could climb, although I managed to give myself concussion after I hit my head at the top.
That evening we went out as a big group. The place wasn't that great but we had fun. Most people left but a few of us stayed to play some pool.
