27th February 2010
Arrived in Auckland 1 hour before mom and dad as we were on different flights. We waited in the airport for them and then we all waited for Micky Dunnion to collect us. He took us to his home in Dairy Flats, north of Auckland admiring the beautiful views on the way.
The dunnion family were lovely and out us up in thier caravans for 2 nights. We were spoilt with breakfast and dinner and entertained by the 4 children.
They live on avery high point and their house is quite isolated but in a great location. They have chickens running free and live a very sustainable life. Michael drove us to a harbour nearby and took us for a drink in a bar and the following night we repaid the gesture by taking the family out for dinner.
We had a lovely 2 nights but knew we wanted to tour the North island so went and hired a car to begin our travels with every hope to return to Michaels home before leaving.
