So today is officially our last day to see things in Europe! We decided to take it easy today and wander around and try to find as many fountains as we can. And boy did we see some fountains! We started the day off right with some gelato post-breakfast and then commenced the walking fountain tour. Today we got up, ate breakfast, and headed out to the Vatican. Technically Vatican City is its own country, so this makes 10! We took the metro there (we are really good at metros now) and started to follow the hordes of people heading toward the Vatican. On the way walking there, we were approached by people selling tours and, after one person reduced the price for us, we signed up. we got to the train station bright and early this morning...realllllly sad to be leaving cinque terre so soon...but we had to get out before the strike! so we got to rome around noon, walked to the hostel, they couldnt actually check us in because all the comps had just stopped working, so we went and got some lunch and came back. still couldnt get into our rooms because they were being cleaned...so we STILL couldnt take showers...this is what...day 3?? gross bu...

Ah it's tough being in paradise! We woke up this morning and wandered out to our private balcony that looks over the small colorful village of Riomaggiore and the other way a small ocean view. Is your mouth watering yet? We wandered over to the train station to buy our tickets for the next day to Rome, only to find out that there was a train strike scheduled for 9-5 on that day. Um.. really? So we had no choice but to leave before the strike started, very early....
