Why isn't tallness a recognised disability?
The morning after the night before is rarely fun and consuming zero water and underestimating my alcohol intake at neighbours night was a mistake and I felt a little worse for wear for it.
I still managed to pull myself together though and got up to return the rental car. I made a visit to the immigration museum which was very interesting and then trudged off to meet Nicola and wait for the Neighbours bus for the Ramsay Street Tour. I was satisfied that my morning of high culture would counterbalance nicely with my afternoon of trashy culture.
Whilst waiting for the bus Nicola commented on my successful application of the Westlife Step the previous evening on the dancefloor. Its a versatile move that I used with unconsious abandon, but it was pleasing that it was noted.
So we made the trip to the School that acts as Erinsborough High, then onto the studio's where they film the interior scenes and then onto Ramsey Street.
The tour guide was a lovely chippa girl who used phrases such as "cool bananas" and "coolio" and managed to hide well the fact that she must be sick of doing this everydamday. Apparently the stars only get paid about 450quid a week in UK terms which is a tad suprising.
Ramsey Street, or Pine Court Ave as it actually is was tiny and it was obvious from the off the camera trickery involved in making it seem bigger than it is. It was very surreal standing around looking at all these houses. The curtains were all pulled, it must be annoying for the residents but they do get a fair amount of financial benefit from it all.
There was a camera crew on the street making an 8 part Documentary on Sky Mangel, she's just got a 5 album record deal and the cameras came on the bus and we all sang the Neighbours theme tune. I do hope that never makes it onto UK tv, that would not be cool bananas.
