G'day from Western Australia!!

The flight in was good, and the views from the window were amazing, I've got a few pics of Perth from the sky but my damn batteries in my camera have died so can't upload anymore!! The weather is to die for here! Really hot but not humid which makes it a little more bearable!

I can't remember wot I wrote in my last blog so I mite repeat myself... forgive me! I'm staying in Billabong Resort, which is nice but a little out of the way! I'm in a four bed dorm which is 2 sets of bunk beds and I got the top bunk! Its a laugh trying to watch me get down, getting up is ok tho lol!!). The girls I'm sharing with are really nice, Monika from Austria, Anna from Holland, and Louise from Ireland. I just rested up last nite and sorted my diary out, I took a wander around the area and got myself a Hungry Jacks for dinner. Its exactly the same as Burger King selling Whoppers lol. It was nice... filled me up nicely lol. I've a fair plan of what I'm wanting to do while in Perth, but fitting it all in will be a problem!!

I went to bed early last nite coz I was picked up this morning at 7.30 to head off to Rottnest Island, a sandy scrubby paradise! The ferry across was nice, stopping off at Fremantle along the way where Monika got on! So we chatted away and saw dolphins and just enjoyed the spray coming over the side of the boat! Once we got to Rottnest we realised just how hot it was (36 degrees!). Monika had bought a combo ticket which included bike hire. So she went to get her bike. After a lot of humming and ha-ing I decided to get one too tho Monika had already gone off to explore.

So on my bike I went, helmet and all, and was cycling around the island looking for a nice beach! I stopped off at Porpoise Bay but it was all dried seaweed so didnt go in the water, but nice all the same! It was just sooo warm!! I drank lots of water but everytime I got back on my bike I was thirsty again lol. I got back to the docks and went on an Underwater reef view boat, we sat in a cabin under the water, like scuba diving without getting wet! It was very pretty and we saw a few wrecks, no sharks tho!!

After that I returned my bike and got on the ferry back to Perth. I got back to the hostel around 6 and had a look in the mirror, OMG I'm burnt to a crisp!! Thats factor 50!! So mite go looking for some total sunblock... or dip myself in the stuff cricketers put on their noses!!

Not much else happened today... except when coming back through Perth we passed an Irish pub and you'll never guess its name... Fenians Bar!!!! I couldn't believe it lol. I'm gonna hafta find it again and take a picture!

Well, I'm going to scoot on now, I've nearly caught up with uploading my pictures, just a few more from Singapore then it'll be on to Perth!! I found an Internet cafe (where I am now) about a 10 minute walk from the hostel so not too bad!! Oh!! There was severe flooding in Rockhampton over night, I dont know if you will have heard it on the news, but thats 20 mins South of Perth and somewhere I was interested in visiting! I'll keep you posted on that!!
