Today we were slightly hungover so slept in and decided to go to the zoo, I wish I hadn't now, it was horrible.There was a really big lake with dead fish floating everywhere which we didn't think was a good sign! It didn't even look like a zoo but as you walked through the gate there was a row of cages with all different animals. They were really small, filthy and with nothing to stimulate the animals, it wasnt nice. The first cage had 2 black bears, the second a REALLY fat leopard, and the next couple had tigers, it really wasnt nice. We walked futher along and none of the enclosures were suitable, the nocturnal animals were out in the sunlight with barely any shelter, the birds had barely any room to fly,the hippo one was ok ish but the elephants was the worst. There were 2 elephants chained to the walls by their feet outside the elephant house, there was ground for them to walk but they weren't able to, it was hard to see. Although it was quite funny when i was eating an ice cream as all the monkeys put their arms through the bars and kept gesturing me to give it to them!! now you know me and ice cream, that would never happen! When we left the zoo we went back to the hostel and went to the annex and sat and watched a film and just relaxed.
