We're currently on the plane home, somewhere over the alps. We are both gutted to be leaving Italy but also glad to be getting home! Shaun has got his tea planned already- fish and chips. My suggestion of going to an italian restaurant didn't go down that well!
The flight home isn't too bad but I probably wouldn't fly with Ryanair again! It sort of feels like we're cattle being put in a pen! You don't get allocated seats so everyone is rushing it get to the front of the queue. When we boarded we were quite near the front, and got on the same bus to the plane as the priority boarding people (who had paid £6 extra each!). We heard that the temperature in Leeds is 14 degrees, and thought it might be a bit of a shock from the 30+ degrees in Venice!
So over the past four weeks we've visited 10 different cities! I feel like I know Italy better than Britain! I certainly have visited more churches in Italy!
Our favourite place in the whole of Italy has been Venice, I definately plan to come back next february for the carnival! We both enjoyed Rome, Milan and Florence, so if we came back to Italy we would stay in the north!
We have really enjoyed the food, it was just getting a bit samey at one point when we were sick of pasta and pizzas!
Overall it has been a fab holiday and I would definately come back one day!
