Hola!!

Well we arrived in Chile safe and sound, despite 2 flight delays and us getting lost in Madrid airport!! ha ha!! The flight in was actually pretty awesome because we flew over the Andes, which are really beautifull!!

Our first night we stayed in Bellavista and met loads of nice people, from all over the world!! We all sat in the common room singing songs around a guitar and then went out to a club. It was so cheesy but we loved it!!! ha ha!!

The next day we went to the top of Cerro San Christobal, (a hill with a statue of the virgin Mary on top), the view from the top is amazing, you can see the whole of Santiago, surrounded by the Andes, it really is an awesome sight!! We are a bunch of plonkers though, we spent ages walking around looking for it, only to realise it was right behind our hostel, ha ha, literally you could see it from our bedroom window!!

The day after we took a trip to Valparaiso, a costal city an hour and a half outside of Santiago. We'd heard it was really pretty but we're not so sure ourselves, ha ha, the smoggiest place I've ever been I think!! We had such a funny day though, we found a lovely resturaunt and, largely due to a lack of fluent Spanish, ended up with a local seafood broth type dish, it was lovely but we ended up convinced we were gonna get food poisoning, ha ha!! (we didn't!!) Then on the way back we befrended a stray dog!! We didn't go near him obviously but he followed us all through the town centre and even waited for us outside when we went into a shop!! So cute!! We nicknamed him Rabies Rex!! to top it all off Barn and I very nearly missed the bus back to Santiago, ha ha!!

Yesterday we changed hostels and moved from Bellavista to Casa Roja in Barrio Brasil, we got the metro with our massive backpacks, I'm really proud of us!! We went for lunch at a resturaunt in the local square and then went into the city centre for a look around. In the evening there was a party here at the hostel so we went to that (It would have been rude not to....ha ha!!) It was a really fun night!!

Today we're just relaxing (chillin' in Chile, ha ha!!) because we have our flight to Peru at 6.40am!! Not looking forward to getting up in the middle of the night but can't wait for Peru!!
