st December..my true love gave to me..koh phangnan!! we got a tuk tuk to a rather posh resort (6quid each a night), away from the busy expensive area where the full moon party was. It had a private beach, pool, lil hut with hammock..the best thing though would have to be all of the millions of steps and steeeeeeeeep hills!! love them! (not!). We met Donna and Dave and then whilst Vicci napped I went for a short explore.
nd As everyone else used a motorcycle to get around, we thought we should try lol! thinking it looked easy, I hopped on back whilst Vicci drove....straight into the curb! lol wasnt as easy as she thought, and even after a little practice she still couldn't, and cut her foot trying to break with her flip flops so that was a no go! We just paid for a tuk tuk to the markets at the pier to buy plain white tops and UV paint to make our outfit for the party. I drew my arse (full moon!) and had my name and a bucket called brian (because they all drink from buckets all night). We got a taxi to the party, and was joined by some crazy drunk kiwi people! lol! Met Dave and Donna, who were already drunk, got a bucket and headed to the beach!! OMG it was AMAZIING!!! drink, music, buckets of alcohol everywhere and on a beach!! Everyone was so friendly and the atmosphere was fab! Vicci got married and then lost us but luckily we were sober enough to have a meeting point at that time! All the lads were stood along the sea peeing, so me and vic decided to join in instead of paying!! hehe! When I couldn't dance anymore, did a bit of star gazing then headed home. Some guys ruined it by pretending to have paid which caused a bit of a pickle but we got home fine!
rd - We tended to our hangovers whilst it rained bucket loads, followed by a bbq on the beach in the evening. The next day we planned to head to Phuket. Boat and bus! we were told if we leave at midday we would arrive at 5pm..seemed pretty unrealistic which is was! other people we met said 9.30pm! but everything was a big mess up after the boat, as the bus transfer was run by a couple of cowboys trying to make money by selling tickets to the beach near Phuket (and drugs!) and once enough was sold, they got to go on the first buses which were late as it was. People kicked off and the guy kept lieing and changing his mind, heart in his wallet, clearly. We argued, and finally got onto a freezing, squished bumpy bus. My Air con consisted of a hole in the leather above me blasting air out! We took our big bags on the bus to keep and eye on them, which was lucky because when we arrived in Phuket, a lads bag was missing! gutted! We stuck with a couple and a lad whilst roaming the streets after arriving late - at 3am!!! And found a cheap inn with massive rooms.
th I got up early and had a lil wonder on my own. There wasn't much to do, so we booked a boat trip to Ko Phi Phi and headed to Patong (the nearby beach) using a local bus which was cheap cheap!! IT was the kings birthday that day, and they love the king over here! There was a maahhoosive parade through the street, really impressive, good effort! We then left it really late to have dinner and had to roam streets to find a place that was open lol!!
th - Boarded a very busy boat to Ko Phi Phi island tour. Lush weather, and we went snorkeling where the beach was filmed which was amazing, probably saw more there than we did scuba diving!! We didn't get to go to the monkey beach, like we thought we paid for, but we had a nice buffet lunch and the beach was the best sea I'd been in so far, could float so easily (maybe even you could Tad!!). When we got back, I saw a thai massage place by blind people which really interested me so I went for one. It was crazy lol!! I got bent, stretched, cracked and climbed on in every direction! He even got his whole body weight through his elbow on my spine - ouch! Vicci just watched laughing, taking photos! We then went for a lovely meal at the top of Phuket hill - saw a nice view of the lit up town, and also some huge ass bats!!
