SINAPORE
7th - We had an early start to the airport. I slept on take off which is weird, I had done it on every flight so far which is so unlike me!! When we arrived in Singapore it was completely different! Modern, clean and lots of english! It was also the first sign of christmas we had seen with lots of fab deco!! So we even brought our own lil christmas tree and I got a new watch :) ! We walked around little India (where we stayed) which smelt of B.O and spices - lovely- just how you'd imagine India lol!! The hostel was pretty cool, been bags, kitchen, internet, telly and free tea and coffee - BONUS!! We then went on the night safari which was really good, but very busy!!
8th - We thought a day on the beach would be nicer on our budget, and heard there was one at Sentosa..!!?! So we got on the underground (which was soo much nicer than Londons lol!). WE thought wrong, it was in fact like a holiday theme park resort on its own little island connected by a tram line. We hopped on and saw a wave surfing machine, zip lines, tabogons, spas, bars restaurants aquarium and more! We sunbathed on the nice beaches with the view of loads and loads of boats - the most Ive ever seen - out in the sea. We had a verrrrry expensive lunch - so much for the cheap day out!! I also walked to the most southern point of continental asia which was on the island!!
When we got back we went to Orchad Road, the main shopping street, was AMAZING!!! Had all the designer shops, and then the home comforts of new look, river island and accesorize!! made me miss home!! :( The decorations were breath taking, poeple were armed with their cameras everywhere, including us of course, got very snap happy!! There cleanliness, and architecture was very impressive, and no police of sirens to be heard or seen anywhere! Unlike other big citys. Then we headed back to little India, and felt only right to have an Indian Curry - wasnt that amazing though!
9th- We packed our bags, and set off on a walking through Chinatown, planned out by Lonely planet. Was really nice, just like a taste of china with markets decorated by lanterns and pretty gifts. I tried a pink banana, was lovely, very hot and muggy weather though. Went into a big building based around Singapores future development - pretty impressive! Then it started to rain so we grabbed a drink before heading to catch a boat tour. Was a great way to see Singapore, its sky scrapers, and other stunning buildings. One section was filled with white balls, covered with wishes which people could put in with a donation-weird! We then ate some chinese food-yum! Then headed back and to the airport for Australia baby!!
