BULA!
Sorry for the massive lack of communication, phone doesn't work and we've been on islands with no internet.
The following is going to probably be a massive jumble, I've turned illiterate since being here.
We went to Mana Island for 4 days, although it feels like 4 years due to 'fiji time', something you'd need to witness to understand.
We met a fantastic group of people on Mana- Jay, the comedic french canadian, micheal, the gay professional dancer and manuel the token german. We had a great conversation on the meaning of 'bender'- needless to say after many embarrassing attempts, Jay was mortified when we told him i.e Micheal.
I had issues with sleeping for the first week and was getting about 2 hours sleep a night, strangely enough it didn't effect me and I braved through. I was convinced I had insomnia, so started freaking out. But all is fine now, so don't worry!
We went snorkelling to a dessert island which was 50m pure sand, it was crazy. So far we've seen sharks, sting rays, massive blue starfish and tonnes of fish. We've also had encounters with sea snakes. An Ozzie girl decided it would be fun to pick the dangerous snake up swing it round her head and launch it into the bar.
We made friends with the local doggies, they are so sweet and keeps me from missing moobie moo etc :)
I very nearly developed my first dreadlock, it was gross. but don't worry- that's not the look i'll be sporting for my nomadic times!
We went to Survivor island where the american tv show Survivor was filmed, so beautiful- teh sand felt like velvet! We aquired some local kiddies for tourguides who took us round the island feeding us coconuts and telling us about the island. Micheal thought it would be funny to tell them about a scary monster from england who comes abroad to take all the small children away, her name is Madonna. We had a lot of fun with that.
I think my foot is infected, it is soooo painful. But I'm a tough cooky.
I've also been eaten alive by the mosi's here- I though Deet was a repellent mum!
Really growing attached to a life without phones, internet and time.
Tom's off to NZ tomorrow for 2 weeks and I'm possibly staying in Fiji for a few more days or joining Chels and going straight to Oz as we don't have the money to do all the NZ activities.
We've just come home, well I say home but I mean to the mainland, from Robinson Crusoe Island. It was really cool- we had our own island with about 20 of us. Hammocks, Coconuts, palm trees beeeautiful. It was all very environmentally friendly, we had bucket showers- after intially being a little traumatised by this thought I grew to love them, even though you had to run out mid way through your shower to refill your bucket. Not great when you're covered in soap and shampoo.
We met some Ozzie guys who we're going to stay with in Oz and some Swedens who were the most typical Swedish guys you could think of.
We got to dress up as tribesmen yesterday, so spent all day making leaf skirts. Micheal took it to new levels (just incase Alexander McQueen showed) and won the best dressed. I also got cereal and milk thrown over me this morning because thats apparently normal behaviour in Sweden.
So yeah, that's some of the things that we've been up to. I'm going to upload my pictures hopefully when I get to Oz.
Sorry this is a but rushed and not much thought gone into it, loveeeee you all
