ok just another brief one...
firstly thanks to all of you for leaving msgs, i didn't realise i don't get email updates on thema nd have just found them all and they've made me smile so much! i like that you're jealous of headtorches and that my beautiful godson is going to geow up to be as clever as me :p glad you're all keeping well and hope life at home is still fun without me!
the past 2 days have been CRAZY!!
first off our tour guide showed up early, i had to rush to get our laundry, she hadn't ironed it and was soo apologetic, i said don't worry, helkped her fold them in a room where i couldn't stand coz i'm too tall and we're hurrying through, it was a bit like folding with mum, everything i did, she re-did! haha! love you lots mum :) xxx
then we get on the bus and start on our wy to the elephant camp where we rode on the elephants - it was amazing! we have a fantastic pic that they printed for us which i'll scan in and show you when we get back, it's me and reyn on the big elephant and the baby elephant stretching its trunk up to us - really gorgeous! we had the naughty elephant which was fun, he'd just wander off for a bit! the highlight was shaking the trunks with them and the little one reaching its trunk up to our seats for bananas and when it didn't get one straight away it put its trunk up the back of my t-shirt! ok not so hot that these were freshly laundered closthes now filthy but it was well worth it, top moment!!
after the elephant ride we went trekking, this has made me reconsider the inca trail because i'm just not confident enough on these treks let alone in the blimmin' andes, this doesn't upset me, i'll use that week to try to pick up some spanish. i'm saying this because firstly a polish guy had to help me loads - i was blinking grateful to him, i did buy him a beer to say thanks! then the guide made me a walking stick out of bamboo - that was cool!! but not enough to convince me! hauha! our woman guide was awesome too, really exciteable and v knowlegable which was cool. on the way we stoppped at some waterfalls for lunch - i wasn't feeling this massively as i was worried about what was to come with slippy leaves and rocks as we had a couple oif light showers! anyway we did the rest of the trek and myu confidence grew and we got to the local tribe. had an open air shower (in bikinis!) and had some great food cooked in the tribe. the local kids came and sang to us and we all had to sing back, it was so surreal to be singing wonderwall as a group to a bunch of kids that don't speak english in the middle of the jungle!! haha!! and we had to do individual songs - i chose old macdonald - thought it'd be educational! we had a bit of a group session with the guitar and the male guide singing random songs to us with lieelt facts dropped in, all in v good humour - he was really funny. the next day we did a couple of hours trekking before more waterfalls where we had to climb a narrow rock path, we got in and swam instead - much better idea, then we went bamboo rafting - loads of fun!! got to get off net now it's free so only 15mins, been on about an hr, but the rest of the day was getting back and getting on to a bus to bangkok, seen some good things here and just about to get a bus to phuket where we'll get a ferry to phi phi islands, keep taking care allm, will update again soon. lots of love
