ok we've had a couple of days in cairns and have now touched down in mission beach - here's the rundown of what we've done so far....
carisn - wandered around a bit of a day or so and got used to the area so we wouldn't get lost - a must!!
went to port douglas for a day - pretty, got a 6mile long beach called 6 mile long beach - original - the aussies are a lot like that, but as they're so accommodating we don't mind :D we did get very rained on and ended up taking a lift froma local to the bakery so that we could try an oz pie - it is minece meat veg and gravy in a pie and absolutely delicious! we went home and kicked about a bit...
the next day we went to the zoo - this was an awesome (tropical zoo), saw a free flight bird show - none of them pooed on me, bonus, and they fly really los so that they can glide on the head from the audience's bodies, we hand fed kangaroos, tjhey were cute and we saw croc feeding - didn't do that ourselves though - had our pics with kialas (for a small fee) and saw some wombats - they're sturdy beggars i'll tell you! also for free!! we got to hold a GIANT snake (pic on fb) because the guys saw me having a nose through the window and invited us i - it weighed loads but was cool :D:D
today we headed to mission beach, stopped at a croc farm on the way and i got to hold a baby croc (for free again! - we like the 'f' word!) it actually felt really nice. got to our hostel - hostel's nice, people are really friendly - got a bbq going on which i'm about to indulge in - will eat til i get the meat sweats coz we've not had meat for days! and we've booked some weather dependant activities for tomo - will update once i know whether or not they've been able to go ahead.
i know it's brief butmy time's nearly up.
in oz for 4 weeks and nz for 2 btw uncle mike, and dad did o2 send a replacement phone out? (don't worry not going to ask you to send it!).
hope you're all ok, lots of love and hugs
