Neil's Round the World Trip!
I got up early and said farewell to Benny boy as I'm taking the car back to Christchurch while Ben is heading up to Nelson and then the North Island. I drove the car to Kumara and filled Shakira up with petrol. I then drove along the beautiful but very windy Arthur's Pass which cuts through a mountain range. I reached Christchurch around 1pm and got a little stressed driving in the city centre as I couldn't find the car rental company and the one way system is quite confusing. I finally found the car rental company which was located right next to the airport. The rental guy gave me a lift to the airport and I whiled away the hours reading up on my Spanish. I also checked my emails but couldn't reply as the price was extortionate. I had a pretty minging airport meal of pork ribs and rice. I sat in the lounge reading until a security guard told me to move on to the International Arrivals hall as this area was being shut for the night. I then sat in the hall and watched late night arrivals from China and Sydney throng through the terminal. I got a bit sleepy and joined the Swedish couple and German girl on the terminal lounge floor. I was so uncomfortable, cold and restless. I had the worst 2 hour sleep of my life and woke up at 4am. I phoned my Gran Lawrie and collected my luggage from the store. I checked in for my flight and arrived at 7am in Auckland.
