I think I am still jet lagged since I am up at around 5.30am I force my bed to stay in bed since at this hotel there are no study lights. I had intended to finish reading my novel but I couldn't since I did not want to wake up my roommate-Willy. He is really talented in lots of areas from dancing, singing, playing piano and also basketball. He is also a member of the PiKe fraternity, which is one of the popular fraternities in school. He is normally very keen to carry his mosquito repellant since he is allergic to mosquito bites. It's great to know him personally and have him as a roommate.
At 8a.m I have my breakfast in my room, which we had bought in the bakery the previous evening. Surprisingly, I am hungry and I ended up finishing the food that was meant for two days in one day. I really liked the buns and they made me realize that I had not lost my sense of sweet taste. It's only that the buns in the U.S taste differently and had begun avoiding eating sweet things. We later divided into two buses and left for the village. After leaving the main high way the road became less passable. We came to a point where the water had flooded on the small dusty pathway. We were therefore forced to walk for about 2km to the village. We ended up with muddy shoes. The environment in the village was very cool and the scene especially the rocky hills were spectacular. It was the first time seeing people who had leprosy. I really sympathized by the fact that they were alienated yet none of them chose to be in that condition. For the first time I was able to appreciate the feeling of pain. We made molds of their legs and left to make a cast for them. We also had a tour of their living quarters which we found wanting. The people there most of them whom were aged were very fond of each other. They also reminded me of my grandparents-caring nature-when one of the residents asked if I had lunch.
