On our way from Mission Beach to Airlie Beach with the intention of doing a day cruise there. Mission Beach had changed heaps from when were last there - they have worked hard to keep open for tourists but the cyclone devastation is very evident. Almost no tropical fruits available (except the bananas I just bought at 5 for $1.00).

Tim has had a ball here making dams across the nearby stream. His toe is healing nicely.

400km+ drive planned for today. We'll see if we achieve that.

While I think of it - tip for drivers heading this way. Don't pull off the road near white posts with numbers on. The numbers indicate a culvert that could be 30cm deep or almost bottomless! This is just an added stress factor when you have a 3-truck road train trying to become a part of your rear bumper and you're trying to let it past.
