Yep, on the move again. Early start at the Flamingo in Las Vegas to get to the airport for our flight north to Calgary, Canada. After passing through our grumpy USA Homeland security guard we got to the departure gate for a relax. The flight to Calgary was bumpy. Stewards sat down about halfway and for their own safety didn't get up for the rest of the flight. Calgary airport turned on the festive spirit with carol singers and decorations in the arrivals lounge. Kids had the customary photo with the Canada sign. We got the cars and then hit the road to Banff our base for the next 6 days. Driving out of the airport was easy and the kids liked the fact there was snow on the ground, this was a good sign. We navigated our way to highway 1, the road across the Rocky Mountains. After about 30 minutes the snow started falling and didn't stop for the rest of the day. Roads are well maintained, even if you can't see the lanes you just follow the tread marks of the car infront. We got our National Parks pass at the ranger station and then found our way to Fox Suites. Rooms are nice and spacious and the underground carpark makes it easy to unload. We drove into town to get fitted out with our Snowboards. The shop was staffed by Aussies so it was a bit confusing - we are finding that there are probably as many Aussie accents around here as Canadian. We then got some shopping, and had dinner with the family before doing a load of washing and hitting the sack for a 7:30am bus up to Lake Louise for the girls lesson. The town is decked out with Christmas Decorations and is what we hoped it would be for a white Christmas. Stay cool and catch you tomorrow as the Muggleton's hit the Rocky Mountain slopes in Banff, Canada.
