Today we wandered around the remains of a 5th century bc temple, which if it was in Australia would have 50 tourist bus spots, 100 souvenir shops and be a national icon. In Greece it has a dirt track around it, and is protected by not one, but two pieces of string. A quick walk around the old town, was followed by a well deserved afternoon at the beach. Well Greece, you have delivered. Possibly the best beach I have ever seen, agios prokopios on Naxos. Magnificent sand that is like miniature pebbles that don't stick to your feet and the most amazingly clean water that has a silver sparkle to it (I don't know what is is, possibly phosphorescence) that I couldn't really capture on film. I think maybe tommorow might be another beach day!....
