I planned to stay in Avignon because it's where the train stopped, that's all. I was so wrong, it is the most gorgeous walled city, with the town surrounded by ramparts , and looked over by an amazing papal palace which was the seat of the Christian world in the 14th century. The other point to note is that shops don't open on a Sunday here, not even supermarkets, so everybody just wines and dines all day in all the street eateries. I love that idea! It's also...

Sitting on a tgv train somewhere in France, on the way to Avignon. Yesterday was spent shopping on regent and Oxford street while waiting for michelles IPhone to have it's shattered screen replaced. It was dropped while writing the blog at Shakespeare's birthplace. Ironic really. I bet his quill couldnt take photos, hold his record collection or access ye olde internet though.
