We pulled out of Lloyd on the 14th after our Timmies run at around 7am and made good time to Battleford. We drove around a bit and went to the water tower that Cam remembered as a kid as looking like a UFO. I took a pic from underneath and it certainly does! Nothing much to interest us there and we went on to Denholm (Cam's old stomping ground) and toured around. Keep in mind that there are only a few streets that are 3 or 4 blocks long! We took a picture of the house that Cam and his Dad built. From there we went out into the country to the old Voigt farm which was Cam's Dad,s cousin's farm. The first time we went there a few years back the house was abandoned but now it has been fixed up and rented out. The rest of the farm has been leased out. While the end of an era it is better than being abandoned.
We headed of to Saskatoon and came across a flea market at an old farm house outside of Ruddell and picked up some great salt & pepper sets (a cool set of Niagara Falls) and further up the road at Radisson Cam found an ambulance.
We had lunch in Saskatoon and then headed out once more. Our goal was to reach Yorkton for the night but one we got there we found out that there was a ball tournament going on and all 4 of their hotels were full. The girl at the hotel was kind enough to call a hotel in the next town and we were fortunate to find a room there. We drove on to Russell Manitoba, an hour or so up the road and settled in for the night. Three provinces in one day!
