After a very brief visit with friends we headed out to see our eldest, Craig, for a couple of days. We spent a few hours around Edmonton and then headed east on the #14 Hi-Way instead of the usual Yellowhead Hi-Way. A nicer drive even though it may take a bit longer. We headed into Alberta on Hi-Way #1 towards Lake Louise. There is nothing quite like driving through the Rocky Mountains. The road was better, including the new Park Bridge outside of Golden. As you come off the bridge you pass through a cut they made in the rock over 100 feet high on either side of you.
