The most popular tour in Skagway is to take the train that goes up White Pass Canyon. Rather than take the train, we decided to join a tour that takes a van up to the top of the pass and then we biked down. It was over a 10 mile trip with only a couple of hundred yards of up hill riding. My kind of bike trip. The scenery on the trip down was spectacular. The train went up the east side of canyon and the road we rode down was on the west. It was quite steep and after about the 1st half of the ride, Bonnie and a couple of others decided to take the van back down, rather than bike. After the bike ride we explored Skagway for a few hours.
