Had lazy morning again and checked out about 11 30. Got brunch again and went sightseeing. There are some really beautiful buidings here, reminds me a lot of Oxford. Felt in some ways a little disorientating the similarity of the towns. Went into the Neuvo Cathedral which was pretty impressive but similar to many I've seen. the wall outside had names written in blood, apparently done by the students hundreds of years ago. Went through to the Old Cathedral. when buying the ticket the guy thought my Spanish was so good he gave me a Spanish leaflet, he he! Even looked surprised when I asked for an English one. Made me giggle esp as my Spanish is a bit poo. Went into the old cathedral and had great paintings on the wall also great artwork over the altar. Had a wander around the cloisters and the museum all full of religious stuff (most surprising!) Scary room with life size models of bishops and priests, would not like to be in there at night! Came through and went up the medieval towers. Lots of very steep steps provided my work out for the day. Not entirely convinced of their safety either. Passed through various rooms with artefacts but all explanations in Spanish which eluded even my amazing lingual skills. Came out onto terrace which overlooked the city, gave a great view. Even better was the pathway around the roof of the Neuvo Cathedral, could look down into the main buidling. This lead through to yet more stairs, even less safe that lead to top of tower. Again very good views and worth the climb. Came down again and out of the cathedral. Had passed a good hour clambering around. Went to the river and saw part of the roman bridge before headed back. Passed the convent(?) but couldn't find the frog that apparently brings you luck if you find it unaided. Ah well. enough other frogs around here in the touristy shops. Came back to hostel to use net and wait for the bus which arrives at 4 30. Bus arrived and set off for Madrid. Watched some Fawlty Towers, inc Basil the Rat. Arrived about 7 30, went up and settled into room, only 4 bed and relatively clean so all good. Went out for walk and found the tourist info. Came back to hostel after looking through some of the shops. Read my book and fell asleep before midnight.
