Met Adelena at 10 in her room and couldn't see the boys so went into town. Got a metro card as feeling lazy. Went to the old part of town again. Saw the parliament building (thru construction work) and the Rathaus. Tour guide recommended a tram ride around the 'ring road'. Not like a city one at home, is where all the old and beautiful buildings are. Sat all the way round feeling a little silly but didn't really care! Had some lunch and meandered into the city. Found some nice buildings and squares before coming to the Stephens Dom. From there got the metro out to Prater Island. Has an amusement park on. A good one, quite old fashioned so nice to wander around. I went on the ferris wheel. is very old and part of Vienna's tradition. also in a James Bond film but can't remember which one. Very cool until I remembered half way up that i'm not the biggest fan of ferris wheels that swing and this was just a wooden cabin that didn't appear very sturdy. Got used to it tho and was soon walking around (rather cautiously) and taking pics. Great view from the top. Came back and met Adelena and we decided to go back to the Rathaus Park. Spent a pleasurable afternoon lying in the sun and reading my book. Went back to the hostel about 5 stopping off for gelati on the way back. Was so good but felt a bit sick after 4 scoops! Pickled in my room for a bit and went to the bar. Bumped into Phil and chatted for a bit. Getting into my spritzers now! Found Mal and we went to grab some dinner. Ended up at the kebab place, they're just too good and cheap. Also felt obliged to introduce the boys to the ice cream shop. Was rude not to so had another couple of scoops, only managed half and the boys bickered over the rest. Came back to the hostel and sat on the terrace again. Said my goodbyes (unlikely to see the boys or Adelena again) and went to bed.
