Went paragliding at 9, was incredible!!!! Met Avi my guide and got the cable car up mountain to 1700 metres. Had the briefest safety spiel and got clipped into the harness. Was told to just keep running towards the edge of the mountain and the wind would pick us up before we reached it. Don't know what's happened to me but wasn't at all scared, was thinking I'd get there and panic. After 6 steps was in the air so tucked my airbag under my bum as instructed and relaxed for the ride. Was amazing flying over the Alps, such beautiful scenery. Avi kept taking photos when we were up there with a special camera stick, hopefully will be a great memory. Was able to steer for a bit which was cool and then lower down he asked if i wanted to do some acrobatics, a hell yeah later and i was swooping all over the sky. Carly and Teresa were watching and apparently it looked really scary, felt great tho. Double checked with Avi that all I had to do for the landing was land on my ass and he agreed. Couple of mins later we touched ground (yes ass first), thank goodness for the air cushion, I have padding but not that much! took ages to unclip me from the harness but got up and met the girls. Couple of last pics and started back towards the hostel. was only in the air 20 mins but legs were like jelly and was in major daze. We were meant to go 18 mile bike ride and was v glad when the weather looked rainy and it was cancelled not sure I'd have made it! Ended up spending the afternoon reading and sleeping. Had another wander around the town as well. Cooked the same food again, was that good! All 6 of us headed into town as the Lederhosen Festival was on. Had a giant pair of them hanging on a house, very funny. Arrived and the square was covered in tables with people all over the place, lots of them dressed up as well. Excellent night esp for tourists, band were good, traditional austrian music and some english stuff. People were dancing and Cristal and Teresa joined them for a bit. Had a great time watching the band and locals. Also saw the best dressed competition. males, females and family. the family that won had triplets aged about 4 all dressed identically, very cute! Headed back to the hostel about 12 and went to bed. What an amazing day!
