We set out on the next drive from Georgia to The Great Smokey Mountains avoiding interstates... what were we thinking. We started out about 4pm and tackled the tail of the Dragon in North Carolina and Tennessee (highway 129). Night fall came and we continued our journey across 90+ miles of hair-pin turns, up and down and across the mountains on what seemed never-ending drive. Around midnight we made our way across the Dragon Tail onto the Foothills Parkway. The good thing is, we made it unscathed and with all of our rig; the bad thing is, we didn't get our T-shirt! We finally made it to our next destination in Walland, TN at the Misty River Campground just outside of The Great Smokey Mountains.
