We arrived in Mammoth Cave, KY just around 4pm with an outside temperature of 106 degrees (I have a picture of the thermometer). The Misty River RV Campground is a great place to stay. We were very impressed with the grounds and especially the bath house. The owners welcomed us with lots of information about the area and things to do. In addition to kayaking the Little River, we toured the Tuckaleechee Caverns. We set out on the next drive from Georgia to The Great Smokey Mountains avoiding interstates... what were we thinking. We started out about 4pm and tackled the tail of the Dragon in North Carolina and Tennessee (highway 129). It's hard to believe the week is almost gone. All of the family is heading back to their homes tomorrow (Sunday) and Dan and I will have the camp to ourselves. It is sad to see them go but we know in a few months when we return home to Cocoa, the kids will be settled in to their home in Cocoa Beach, our friends will be ready for some socializing and our families in Kentucky and Georgia may be ready to see us again for another family fun-packed adventure.

What else can I say... the weather was beautiful; the evenings were filled with family laughing and telling stories and listening to the childrens' giggles. Friday and Saturday night was story telling time and I got to share my stories with my Grandbabies and they, in turn, told me theirs.
