Such a lovely day in Bourne today. So nice and warm, blue skies...perfect day for a BBQ. Spent most of the day inside doing some cooking and food prep with Sue, it was so enjoyable doing some home cooking, something we have missed so much! Had Mike and Sue's son and daughter in law over with their two kids. Loved the company and conversation over some Prosecco and fresh food! A good day had indeed.

The day started at 5.30am as we got ready for our flight from Amsterdam back to England. Had to wait a while for a tram as of all days it decided not to come when it was supposed to! Lucky we gave ourselves heaps of time to get to the airport. After catching the train we made it with heaps of time to spare. Upon arrival to the UK, we picked up the hire car and made the trip to Bourne. Stupid Garmin decided to play silly b*****s so it took a bit longer than expect...

Day trip to Haarlem was lovely....such a pretty place! After brunch we visited the Frans Hals Museum who was their most famous painter and housed his work since it's opening in 1913. We had a walk around and bought some souvenirs. We trained it back and headed to the Ajax Stadium for a guided tour which was fantastic! Got to visit the change rooms and also where they have their press conferences after the game. We then tested our patience by lining up at the Anne...

More museums on the agenda today: we visited the Amsterdam Museum which was good, viewed the line for the Anne Frank Museum which was still massive regardless of the time of day so gave it a miss this time. We did the Rijksmuseum, and saw the famous 'The Night Watch' by Rembrandt. Next, the Heineken Experience which did not disappoint despite its reputation! Could not complain about a few beers. An Irish pub meal for dinner was on the cards, yum. A long day, legs...

Goodbye Brussels, hello again Amsterdam. We arrived after a comfortable 2 hour train ride. We checked our bags into storage as we were not heading to our accommodation until night time. Following lunch, we did the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam (museum of modern contemporary art) and then thought we could squeeze in the Amsterdam Zoo also.
