A relaxed morning was had and much needed today. We were shown where the money exchange place was at the nearest metro station by our host, Mary. We then headed into town and visited the tourist centre to ask questions and from there we were able to plan our next 3 days. A day of travel! Left Athens and it's stinking heat behind, and made our way to the airport. Was a close call actually making our flight due to the disorganization of the system when trying to check in. We had a much needed sleep in today which was wonderful! Found a lovely cafe for lunch, afterwards got on the City Sightseeing bus again and headed towards The Acropolis of Athens. With advise from our host, we bought tickets for the City Sightseeing - Hop on/Hop off bus to get around town. It was a good decision as Athens is quite a big city. Also mainly because today was unbelievably hot. We have not felt that sort of heat to that extent, and we had been to some pretty hot places.
